Plate is small today, but our history is long. Before we started the studio, we spent over 15 years making films with the studios below, as freelancers and in-house artists, and we are proud of that work. These projects were produced by them, and all credit and rights are theirs. We show them here for the part we played.
Studios we've worked withA 15-second excerpt from an imagined music video. Someone loses the colour inside their head, chases it through rooms that flip from black to white, and gets it back only when they stop looking.
A pitch film for Nubank that turns a year of activity into a set of objects. Brass spheres roll across black marble and blush stone, and each number of the year gets its own small mechanism.
A collaborative film made by invited studios and artists, each signing one scene. Ours is the rider: a motorcycle helmet lit by a fan of neon tubes, a READY tag on the jacket and the reveal of the Anymotion logo.

A brand film for CX1 that travels from deep space to the logo: a network of light, a galaxy, a cube holding a nebula and blue ribbons that fold into the mark, closing on connecting experiences in one place.

When a project asks for more hands, senior specialists join from our network, so the team always fits the brief. Remote pipeline, international standards, work in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
We use AI the way we use every tool in our pipeline: as an ally to the creative and technical process. Our job has always been to keep up with whatever arrives in the creative and business field, and AI is one more of them.
We are not against it. Like every program, plugin or software that arrived with big promises, it opens new ideas, new points of view and new ways of working, and we stay just as human.
This wave is bigger, mostly because of speed. Nothing that human direction can't handle.
Every frame still passes through a director's eye.
We test new tools as they arrive and keep what serves the image.
Speed comes from the tool. Judgment comes from us.
What we learn on real productions, shared with the community: how we light, how we build pipelines, how new tools change the work.
Fifteen years lighting commercials, series and animation. Writes and speaks about light as storytelling, USD pipelines and how studios adopt new tools without losing direction.
Schools, festivals and agencies. Lighting, lookdev and production for brands.
Selected projects, taken apart shot by shot, when the client allows.
Time set aside for artists moving from freelance to senior or studio roles.
Short films, tools and look studies. This is where new techniques get tested before they reach a client project.
A short call with the team. You leave with a production approach, a realistic timeline and next steps.

Almost two months on a hybrid client project, AI and traditional 3D.

For the past few weeks, almost two months working on a client project, he came with the proposal for us to do a merge, a hybrid project between AI and traditional 3D.
And this is already a market reality, where there are clients, whether a production company, a studio or an agency, that are already asking for this kind of service.
But it was intense, because you end up learning in the middle of the process. In the middle of hundreds of AI platform options, of free and paid models, it takes a lot of critical thinking well before you start executing, to see which platform solves it for you, or at least which one you estimate might solve your problems.
So I came across some options, tested a few others, until in fact, in the middle of the process, you end up settling on a specific process there that you see works. Always trying to balance what you can leave in the hands of AI and what can be reversible, right? Which is the most important thing to keep control.
But in those tests, in that initial time of searching and testing, you end up burning through credits that fly by and you don't even notice.
So pre-production is much more important before you go off executing with AI, to put an end to that idea of “oh, it's faster, it's easier”. I wouldn't even say it's subjective, but there's a relativity to it, depending on who's saying it: whether it's the service provider or the client, the end consumer. For both there are advantages and disadvantages.
So I think what I learned here with creative direction was finding the middle ground that served both. I think that's the biggest bottleneck, bigger than just going off executing. Because tool by tool, whether manual or through artificial intelligence, we learn it in a couple of clicks. The thing is really, in the middle of a real market process, where there's real demand, making it work.
But at least it's node based 😆
