Plate Studio is a 3D animation and video production studio in São Paulo. We make commercials, product films and campaign content for brands and agencies, from the first idea to final delivery.
Plate is small today, but our history is long. Before we started the studio, we spent over 15 years making films with the studios below, as freelancers and in-house artists, and we are proud of that work. These projects were produced by them, and all credit and rights are theirs. We show them here for the part we played.
We produce 3D animation and video for brands and advertising agencies: animated commercials, product films, character animation, CG integration and creative direction. We take a project from the first idea to the final master, or join your team for a single stage. Every project is quoted on scope.

What does Plate Studio do?

Plate Studio is a 3D animation and video production studio in São Paulo. We make animated commercials, 3D product films, character animation, CG integration for live action and creative direction for brands and advertising agencies, from the first idea to the final master.
Who do you work with?

Brands and advertising agencies, in Brazil and abroad. We work in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and our hours overlap with the US and Europe.
How much does a 3D animation or product film cost?

Every project is quoted on scope: length, number of shots, level of detail, deliverables and deadline. We focus on campaign and brand productions, so we are usually not the right fit for small one-off pieces. Send us the brief and we reply within one business day.
How long does a project take?

It depends on the request: a project can take days, weeks or months. Most take between two weeks and a month.
Can you work inside our agency's pipeline, or on a single stage?

Yes. Besides full production, we can take one stage of a film, such as animation, lighting, lookdev or FX, or supervise the creative direction of your team or vendor.
Do you have a physical studio?

No. Plate is a remote studio based in São Paulo. Calls, reviews and deliveries happen online, which lets us work with clients anywhere.
Do you use AI?

Yes, as one more tool in the pipeline, never as the author. Every frame goes through a director's eye: speed comes from the tool, judgment comes from us.

We use AI the way we use every tool in our pipeline: as an ally to the creative and technical process. Our job has always been to keep up with whatever arrives in the creative and business field, and AI is one more of them.
We are not against it. Like every program, plugin or software that arrived with big promises, it opens new ideas, new points of view and new ways of working, and we stay just as human.
This wave is bigger, mostly because of speed. Nothing that human direction can't handle.

How much does a 3D product film cost?
There is no price list, and there shouldn't be. Here is what actually moves the budget.

It's the first question most brands and agencies ask, and the honest answer is: it depends on the film. Two 15-second spots can be far apart in cost, and both can be fair. What changes is the amount of work behind each second on screen.
The budget follows the shots, not the running time.
Shot count. A 15-second film with three long shots is a different job from one with twelve quick cuts. Every new shot means new camera work, new light and new rendering.
Product and materials. A matte box is simpler than a glass bottle with liquid inside, condensation and a label that has to read perfectly. Materials that react to light, like metal, glass, skin and liquids, take the most time to get right.
Simulation and characters. Liquid, smoke, fabric, particles and animated characters add whole stages to the work. They are often what makes the film memorable, and also what takes the longest.
Deliverables. One 16:9 master is one job. A master plus cutdowns in 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5, with versions per market, is another. Planning the formats at the brief saves a lot of rework.
Deadline. A comfortable schedule lets the team test, review and refine. A tight one needs more people working at the same time, and that shows in the budget.
That's why we quote every project on scope. Send us the brief, the formats and the date it needs to be on air, and we come back with a production approach and a proposal. If the idea is still open, a 20-minute call is usually enough to size it.
